The best coffee filters on the market are the permanent, gold-plated variety. Over the long term, they are economical because they don't need replacing. Paper filters are less efficient, since they can trap and hold flavourful oils that should be in your coffee.

Misty Ridge Coffee Roasting Company is the offspring of a little Espresso Bar/Café that opened in 1997 in Campbell River, BC.

The coffee roaster was purchased from Diedrich Coffee Roasters in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 2000, and the owner immediately began to turn out a product superior to all the other coffees in the area.This was due simply to the fact that the product was vibrantly fresh.

Because of its popularity, all the freshly roasted coffee would be sold within a week or two of production--unlike the big roasting companies who stockpiled for months, only to ship as needed.

In 2005, the roasting location was transferred to the tiny village of Sayward/Kelsey Bay on northern Vancouver Island. This new roasting division was named Misty Ridge Coffee Roasting Company, because the new premises were in the shadow of Mt. Kusam, a snow-capped mountain peak frequently wreathed with puffy clouds, overshadowing the estuary at the mouth of the Salmon River. In 2010, Misty Ridge Coffee moved to 1045 Marchmont Rd, Duncan BC, V9L 2M6

The owner roasts every batch himself, each time producing five pounds of incredible, taste-bud-stimulating coffee. These small batches allow for maximum quality control, and the ability to offer custom roasting. Now, on request, the owner will produce any five pound order of coffee on hand--blends included�in a light, medium, or dark roast. Your personal choice. Alternatively, each coffee is selectively roasted to produce the best balance of acidity and full flavour possible. Afterwards, the beans are inspected, and allowed to cool overnight.

Once cooled and ready, they are packaged and shipped within 48 hours. This is the peak time, since the beans continue to escalate in fullness and flavour for up to three days after roasting. More importantly, this insures that the coffee you purchase from Misty Ridge Coffee Roasting Company will be incredibly fresh�and put to shame all other coffees that you have tried to date.
